Started applying for the job – Day 9/90

This is the continuation article of the daily writing skills which I have started as 90 days challenge to improve my English learning and writing. As a procrastinating guy I always delay my work for the other day which never comes so I decided this time I will commit myself to do one hard thing for at least 90 days and end up choosing writing because it is one of the hardest thing for me.

In this article I will be sharing what role I have applied for, where and how I have applied. I have not much to write in this article but still I will try to express myself as much as possible.

What role I have applied for?

As I am an android developer, I have started looking for android dev job at my nearby places. Although I haven’t got any interview yet but I am hoping that soon I will be able to get few of them if I start applying from now through online platform or by reaching out to the companies and startups. I am late at job market because at first I tried my best to build something of my own to generate passive income without having to work for others but I was surely delusional that time to take things too lightly. Though I didn’t achieved any financial stability but I have learned the lesson to never rely upon any other platform for your products specially when you have to dealt with big companies terms and policies. The other lesson learned is to always expand ones knowledge into various other domains by developing as much skill as possible so we don’t have to rely on the mercy of just one field or company as an career. Now when looking for job I can see myself limited to android dev role only. Still I don’t have any regret because I am just 26 now and can learn much more than what I learned in last few years.

Where and how I am applying for android dev?

I started applying for the android job on LinkedIn and Naukri.com and hoping to see some positive results soon. I know that my profile is new on both the platform so I wont be getting any visibility as of now but I have planned to start posting about whatever I have learnt and whatever project I have made in order to have some exposure. I managed to get my first interview through referral and got positive feedback too but didn’t matched up to the requirement of the company as they were looking for hybrid developer but I have only developed in native using Kotlin and java. I am pretty sure getting interview will be hard but once I get the right one I will be able to crack it. Because of the condition of job market which is in bad phase I have decided to visit the startups directly and see if they are ready to arrange the interview for me or not. Since I have lots of project to show which I have developed from scratch and weren’t some tutorial clone I think may increase the chance of getting an interview but I can’t say it for sure as I haven’t reached out to any startup yet.

My experience writing this article

Writing this article wasn’t difficult as this article isn’t that long and I knew what I have to write about beforehand. I have decided not to try too hard to produce quality article in the beginning and focus on simplicity because the more I try to focus on every little details the more chaos it causes.

Time it took me to write this article

It took me 1.2 hour to write this article which is still quite good time for this short article. I am quite sure after 1 month I will be able to come up with much better content in much less time.
